KOTA BARU: Kelantan civil servants expressed their gratitude for the state government's announcement on the RM1,000 special assistance for them.
Many described it as a windfall and that the financial allocation would definitely help them during this critical period.
Administrative officer Ahmad Shafiq Mohd Rosli said he was happy after knowing that he and other civil servants in Kelantan would get the aid.
"After hearing from Menteri Besar's announcement yesterday, I immediately called my wife Nur Ayuni Yah Hussin telling her about the good news.
"I will use the money for our daily expenses and for that, l would like to thank the state government," said the 30-year-old father of two from Peringat.
State Development Division director Mohd Roshdi Ismail thanked the government especially Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob for the assistance.
"This is proof that the state government is concerned with the people's wellbeing.
"I will spend the RM1,000 money for my children's studies when their school opens next year," said the 48-year-old who is from Bunut Payong.
Ahmad yesterday had announced a special assistance of RM1,000 for state civil servants, and RM500 each for political appointees.
He said the aid was the state's way of appreciating civil servants for their services and commitment.
Political appointees receiving special assistance amounting to RM500 will include penghulu's and staff of the Dakwah Halaqat division while RM250 will be given to Al-Quran and Fardhu Ain teachers under the Halaqat division.
