Pahang announces cash aid, pay hike for civil servants

KUANTAN: The Pahang state government has announced a special cash aid of one and a half months' salary for its civil servants, following record revenues exceeding RM1 billion annually for three consecutive years.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said the aid, amounting to RM33.3 million, is both an appreciation and a motivator for civil servants to continue delivering excellence.

The payment will be credited in 2025.

"Their professionalism and mutual respect are key to ensuring Pahang's continued development and prosperity," he said when tabling the 2025 Pahang Budget at Wisma Sri Pahang today.

The announcement follows Wan Rosdy's earlier statement on Nov 24, where he confirmed that Pahang has maintained revenue collections exceeding RM1.144 billion annually since 2022.

In addition to the cash aid, Wan Rosdy revealed that Pahang will adopt the new civil service remuneration system (SSPA) announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in August.

The state has allocated RM55 million to implement the system, which will include a 15 per cent salary hike for civil servants.

"Eight per cent of the pay increase will take effect next month, with the remaining seven per cent implemented in January 2026," he added.

The SSPA, introduced by the federal government, will officially begin on Dec 1.
