KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 14,716 flood victims have been rescued and evacuated to temporary evacuation centres (PPS) up to 12pm, today.
Selangor Disaster Management Unit, in a statement today said, the evacuees have been placed at 103 PPS across six districts.
A total of 10,216 victims are currently sheltering at 43 PPS in Klang.
"2,853 flood victims have been evacuated to 14 PPS in Petaling, 821 victims placed at 15 PPS in Kuala Langat, 451 victims placed at 11 PPS in Sepang, 130 victims placed at 9 PPS in Kuala Selangor and 245 victims placed at 11 PPS in Hulu Langat," said the statement today.
Earlier today, Shah Alam city council (MBSA) urgently called for volunteers and individuals who owned private boats to assist with the flood victims' search and rescue efforts.
The city council said members of the public can reach out to them by going to their headquarters or calling the PANTAS operation room at 03-55105811.
