MASA shortlist 30 research proposals focusing on strategies under NRP

KUALA LUMPUR: The Institut Masa Depan Malaysia (MASA) has short-listed 30 research proposals for its Policy Development Programme (MPDP) research grants with up to RM10,000 per policy brief.

MASA chief executive officer Azril Mohd Amin said the programme that was rolled out in September last year drew 134 research proposals from 21 public and private universities in the country.

The policy proposals, he said, revolved around the seven focus areas of strategies that have been outlined under the National Recovery Plan (NRP).

"All research proposals underwent a thorough selection process by the MPDP secretariat, followed by an evaluation by a team of panel reviewers and experts from their respective fields.

"MASA is pleased to announce that a total of 30 research proposals have been shortlisted to receive our research grant of up to RM10,000 per policy brief.

"Successful applicants are also encouraged to publish their research reports in highly acclaimed journals and reputable publications," he said in a statement today.

The MPDP, he said, would enable researchers and academicians to provide competitive decisions and policy inputs to assist in the implementation of the ongoing national recovery process and post-Covid-19 governmental strategies.

"It was also aimed at exposing researchers and academicians to the formulation process of policy inputs that could contribute to high-impact research," he added.

The list of shortlisted MPDP recipients can be found on MASA's website and social media platforms.
