KUALA LUMPUR: The number of daily Covid-19 cases has breached the 20,000 mark with 20,939 infections reported as of noon today.
In a Tweet, Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said of the new cases, 0.56 per cent or 118 cases were under Category Three, Four and Five.
He said 74.7 per cent of the cases (15,640 cases) were symptomatic, 24.74 per cent of the cases (5,181) were asymptomatic and 95 cases were under Category Three.
A total of 155 cases are warded in intensive care units, 80 of which are intubated.
Meanwhile, the Health Ministry recorded 5,807 recoveries today.
Twenty new active clusters were detected today, bringing the number of active clusters to 410 nationwide.
The ministry reported that of the 188 variants of concern (VoC) detected from Feb 9 to 11, 119 of them were of the Omicron variant. Another 69 of the VoC detected by genome typing assays were Delta.
So far, novel coronavirus cases in Malaysia stand at 2,996,361 infections since the onset of the pandemic.
