Nine times married, PwD seeks aid after losing assets to former wives

KOTA BARU: Seventy-seven-year-old Jusoh (not his real name) was married nine times, but fate was not kind as one by one his wives left him.

To add further hardship, the Person with Disability (PwD) claimed that his ex-wives took off with all his properties and abandoned him, leaving him with no assets.

Bereft of any children or relatives, Jusoh had no choice but to resort to begging to keep himself going.

"I have been married to nine women, but our relationships did not last.

"I will never blame God for what has happened and accepted it as fate, although l'm now poor and have no one to rely on.

"All my wives have left me after l gave them my properties. My last wife took my savings after l become handicapped following a road accident three years ago," said Jusoh.

Jusoh who moves around in a wheelchair, lamented his sad fate when met by reporters here today.

He was among nine beggars picked-up by the authorities in special operations around Kota Baru today.

Today was his second day in the state capital.

"I took a taxi from Machang to come here to get some zakat (tithe) from my fellow Muslims here for living.

"I did not expect to be caught today," he said.
