MARANG: A male student broke his right leg after being allegedly slammed to his chair by a Fardu Ain (Kafa) teacher at a school, here.
The incident is believed to have occurred on July 6 involving a nine-year-old victim.
Sources said the victim's 36-year-old mother noticed something wrong with her son about 5pm on the same day after he complained of a sore leg.
"The victim told her that a teacher had lifted and slammed him onto a chair until his right leg hurt.
"The teacher was said to have acted in such a way because he was not satisfied with the victim's behaviour while in class.
"The victim was then taken to a clinic for treatment before being confirmed to have a broken right leg. A police report was lodged last Friday for further action," he said.
Meanwhile, Marang District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Zain Mat Dris, when contacted today, confirmed receiving a report on the incident.
"Further investigations are being carried out under Section 325 of the Penal Code," he said
Section 325 refers to voluntarily causing grievous hurt. Those found guilty of the offence shall be punished with a jail term up to seven years, and can also be liable to a fine.
