KUALA LUMPUR: Nooryana Najwa Najib vows to keep fighting until her father, former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, is back with the family.
In an Instagram post today, she wrote that her father did not get his "day of justice" at the country's apex court today.
"But Bossku does not end here. I promise to you that Mummy (Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor), Ashman (brother Norashman), Abang Jaja (brother Mohd Nizar), me, the family and your people will never rest until you are safely back with us and justice is served.
She began her post with "I'm sorry daddy..." and said the family was proud of Najib's strength during the case.
"Maybe we didn't fight hard enough. Maybe we placed our fullest trust in our justice system.
"Maybe we believed too wholeheartedly in our cause and purpose, so we stood defiant these past four years.
"Yet, you did not get your day of justice today, neither did we stand a fighting chance."
Her post came shortly after the Federal Court quashed Najib's final bid to overturn the verdict of his SRC International Sdn Bhd case.
The five-member bench, led by Chief Justice Tun Tengku Maimun Tuan Mat, upheld the High Court and Court of Appeal's decisions to sentence Najib, 69, to 12 years' jail and a RM210 million fine for misappropriation of SRC International funds.
Nooryana said she would hold on to her father's parting words of wisdom: "They can control everything (sic), but they cannot control your emotions and strength of mind."
She ended her post by saying "Stay strong, Allah is with you, my father. Always with you, for now, and always..."
