KUALA LUMPUR: A youth's three-day search for his missing mother ended in sorrow when he found her body floating in a river just 100m from their home in Kuala Kubu Baru today.

Hulu Selangor police chief Superintendent Suffian Abdullah said the 22-year-old, a wholesale market worker, made a report on Aug 29 that his mother failed to return home after leaving at 7pm.

"Today, he lodged another report saying that he found his 57-year-old mother's body in a river in front of SA Kuala Kubu Baru at about 12pm.

"Forensics investigations showed no foul play. This case is classified as sudden death," he said in a statement today.
