ALOR STAR: A female student of Kolej Sultan Sallehuddin here caused a scare when she was spotted on the roof of a two-storey building today.
State Fire and Rescue Department spokesman said they received a distress call at 1.53pm.
"Seven firefighters from the Alor Star Fire Station were dispatched to the school in Jalan Hutan Kampung upon receiving the call.
"The 19-year-old female student, who is believed to be suffering from depression was found sitting on the roof of the building's stairway," he said in a statement.
The spokesman said the firefighters took about one hour to calm the girl before taking her down from the roof.
The girl was subsequently handed over to the teachers for counselling.
