KUALA LUMPUR: Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah will visit the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) art gallery, Gallery Prima, in Jalan Riong, Bangsar, today.
In conjunction with the 8th Asean Traditional Textile Symposium, the visit will also include representatives and participants from 13 countries in the region.
The 13 countries include Indonesia, Laos, Singapore, Canada, the Netherlands and Cambodia.
Earlier today, Tunku Azizah wrapped up the symposium and passed the symbolic symposium flag to Laos as the next host for the biennial event, which is scheduled to take place in 2024.
The event, held here from Sept 25 to Sept 30, brings together textile artists, artisans and weavers not only from across the country but also from Asean and other regions.
Organised by Yayasan Tenun Pahang Diraja, the event is also supported by Museum Pahang, Galeri Prima, Media Prima Omnia, Kraftangan Malaysia, the National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (Aswara Malaysia); Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Prison Department and Kuala Lumpur World Trade Centre.
It was officiated by Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah on Sept 26.
