MACC chief heads Sabah state awards list

KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki heads the list of 1,407 recipients of Sabah state awards in conjunction with the 69th birthday of Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin tomorrow.

Azam is one of six people being conferred with the Seri Panglima Darjah Kinabalu (SPDK) award which carries the title "Datuk Seri Panglima".

Other recipients of the SPDK are Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Dr Joachim Gunsalam, State Assembly Speaker Datuk Kadzim Yahya, former Kota Kinabalu Mayor Datuk Ilyas Ibrahim, former Executive Chairman, Shell Companies in China Datuk Seri Lim Haw Kuang and former state minister Datuk Mohammad Noor Mohammad Mansoor.

A total of 81 people meanwhile will be conferred with the Panglima Gemilang Darjah Kinabalu (PGDK) award that carries the title "Datuk."

Among them are Deputy Finance Minister II and Sipitang member of parliament Yamani Hafez Musa, State Assistant Finance Minister Jasnih Daya, Sabah Assistant Rural Development Minister Harun Durabi, State Assistant Community Development and People's Wellbeing Assistant Minister Flovia Ng.

Among the other elected representatives receiving the award are Pintasan assemblyman Fairuz Renddan, Sebatik assemblyman Hassan Ghani Pg Amir Balung assemblyman Hamild Awang, Tempasuk assemblyman Mohd Arsad Bistari and appointed assemblyman Jaffari Waliam.

Under the government servants list, among those receiving the award are Sabah Education director Tah Nia Jaman, State Immigration director SH Sitti Saleha@SH Saleha Habib Yussof and State Industrial Development ministry's permanent secretary Thomas Logijin.

For the security force category, the recipients for the awards are Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Idris Abdullah, Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) commander DCP Hamzah Ahmad and Esscom Land Operation chief of staff SAC M.Chandra.

Also in the list are Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor's wife Datin Seri Juliah Salag, Sabah Chief Minister's office media and communications director Datin Lucy Yong, former Universiti Malaysia Sabah vice chancellor Prof Dr Taufiq Yap Yun Hin and former China's Kota Kinabalu consul-general Liang Caide.

There are nine recipients for the Justice of Peace award. They are Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya, Datuk Dr Ajaz Ahmad Nabijan, Datuk Chin Teck Seng, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan, Hendrus Anding, Joshua Ho Yee En, Noor Ilenna Rahayu Ibrahim, Rizwandean Bukhary M Borhan and Datuk Samsudin Yahya.

Other awards, namely Ahli Setia Darjah Kinabalu ASDK sees 131 recipients, Ahli Darjah Kinabalu ADK (246), Bintang Kinabalu BK (393), Bintang Setia Kinabalu BSK (319) and Certificate of Honour (222).
