Weak quake hits Kunak in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU: A weak earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter Scale, hit Kunak, Sabah at 11.10pm, yesterday.

The quake was detected 13km southwest of Kunak, at a depth of 10km.

Tremors were felt around Kunak, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said in a statement while adding that it would continue to monitor the situation closely.

Meanwhile, a Sabah fire and rescue department spokesperson said that the department had not received any emergency calls about the quake-related tremor.

However, the department was there to monitor the area and found no accidents related to the quake.
