KUALA LUMPUR: Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob conveyed condolences to the people of South Korea for the tragic loss of over 150 lives at a Halloween gathering in Itaewon, Seoul.
In a tweet, he said on behalf of the Malaysian government and the people, he expressed his deepest condolences to the people of the Republic of Korea for the tragedy on Saturday.
"Our sympathy and prayers are with the victims and their families," he said today.
According to a report by AP, officials confirmed the death toll at 153 while 133 others were injured during the country's biggest outdoor Halloween festivity since the pandemic began.
Around 100,000 people reportedly gathered in Itaewon for the celebration.
