IPOH: Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali leads a list of 212 recipients of awards, honours and medals in conjunction with the 66th birthday celebration of the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, today.
Zuki has received the Dato' Seri Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (SPCM) Award, which carries the title 'Datuk Seri'.
Orang Kaya Bendahara Seri Maharaja, General (Rtd) Tan Sri Dr Mohd Zahidi Zainuddin said Sultan Nazrin was also pleased to confer the Dato' Seri Panglima Taming Sari (SPTS) award to Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Razarudin Husain, which carries the title 'Datuk Seri Panglima'.
Zahidi said the Sultan has bestowed the Dato' Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (DPCM), which carries the title 'Datuk', to Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak.
Sultan Nazrin also conferred the Dato' Paduka Mahkota Perak (DPMP) award, which carries the title of 'Datuk' on 15 individuals, including Shah Alam High Court judge S.M. Komathy Suppiah.
Also conferred DPMP were High Commissioner of Malaysia Ambassador Zakri Jaafar, Energy and Natural Resources Ministry secretary-general Datuk Rosli Isa, Finance Ministry deputy secretary-general (Investment) Anis Rizana Mohd Zainudin @ Mohd Zainuddin, the National Archives of Malaysia director-general Jaafar Sidek Abdul Rahman, Perak Development Office director Shamshuzaman Sulaiman and general physician at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital, Dr Ker Hong Bee.
Among other recipients of the DPMP were the Public Works Department Senior Director of Integrated Asset Management Branch, Ir Zulkipli Nasri; Perak Syariah Chief Judge Ab Rahman Thobroni Mohd Mansor and Lumut Maritime Terminal Sdn Bhd chief executive officer, Mubarak Ali Gulam Rasul.
Other recipients of the DPMP were Kumpulan Media Karangkraf Sdn Bhd Board of Directors chairman Datuk Dr Hussamuddin Yaacub, National Heart Institute head of department and senior consultant cardiothoracic surgeon Dr Alwi Mohamed Yunus, Sunway Education Group chief executive officer Professor Dr Lee Fuh Yen, Selangor and Federal Territory Eurasian Association president Sheila Eleanor De Costa, as well as former professor of law at Universiti Malaya, the late Datin Professor Dr Mehrun Siraj.
Meanwhile, Malaysian Armed Force Inspector-General First Admiral Abd Halim Shaari leads the list of four recipients of the Datuk Pahlawan Taming Sari (DPTS) award, which carries the title 'Datuk Pahlawan'.
The other three recipients are Malaysian Armed Forces defence advisor Brigadier-General Safwan @ Asri Ismail, Malaysian Armed Forces Western Fleet Engineers commander Major-General Ir Abdul Hamid Mohd Isa, Royal Military College health director Brigadier-General Dr Mohd Ghazalli Mohd Taha and Perak Special Branch Senior Assistant Commissioner Shazeli Kahar.
Sultan Nazrin has also bestowed the Paduka Cura Si Manja Kini (PCM) award to seven recipients, the Paduka Mahkota Perak (PMP) to 23 recipients and the Ahli Cura Si Manja Kini (ACM) to 16 recipients.
Apart from that, a total of 45 individuals have received the Ahli Mahkota Perak (AMP) award, while 47 received the Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT), 41 received the Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and 10 received the Pingat Lama Perkhidmatan (PLP).
Speaking to reporters at the Laman Seri Ridzuan, Zahidi said the investiture ceremony for the award recipients would be held at Balairong Seri, Istana Iskandariah, in Kuala Kangsar.
"Usually the investiture ceremony will be held about one or two days after the Sultan's birthday.
"It's not only due to the 15th General Election (nomination day), but also the unpredictable weather conditions," he said, adding that the date of the investiture ceremony would be informed later.
