MASJID TANAH: Pakatan Harapan (PH) will investigate former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin for allegedly awarding RM500 billion in contracts during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Melaka PH chairman Adly Zahari said PH will do so if it manages to form the government after the 15th General Election this Saturday.
"We promise to carry out the investigation on the case even though Muhyiddin said the money was to combat Covid-19, we have to look at it from every aspect.
"If there are any irregularities, we will charge him in court because it is the country's money," said Adly when met after a campaign in Kampung Ujong Padang. Also present was PH candidate for Masjid Tanah Mutalib Uthman.
He said the allocation was a big amount and even though it is said that it is to save the people and the country from the pandemic, it must be investigated.
He also stressed that PH is confident of winning in Alor Gajah, Tangga Batu and Hang Tuah Jaya as well as maintaining Kota Melaka which is traditionally a PH seat because of the strong support for DAP.
"However, Mutalib have to work until Friday because in Masjid Tanah, there are still a lot of Umno hardcore supporters as well as supporters of (Datuk Wira) Mas Ermieyati (Samsudin)."
Adly, the former Melaka chief minister, said Pas do not have much strength in the state, just like in Johor and Negri Sembilan, so he is sure that Pas would not be given a chance in GE15.
"I am a former Melaka Pas commissioner and I know that there are only about 5,000 Pas members in Melaka and PN had to rely on Pas machinery.
"In this election, BN does not have money, PN does not have money and we also do not have money but the support for PH in the state and the country is rising," said Adly.
In Alor Gajah, Adly is facing Shahril Sufian Hamdan (BN), Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Mohd Yusof (PN) and Muhammad Nazriq Abdul Rahman (PEJUANG).
