KUALA LUMPUR: The government will give a RM500 Special Financial Aid to all civil servants grade 56 and below, including those appointed by contract.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said another RM250 aid will be given to civil service retirees, including military veterans.
"I am happy to say that the government has agreed to allocate RM500 for a Special Financial Aid for all civil servants Grade 56 and below, including those appointed by contract.
"There will also be a RM250 aid given to civil service retirees, including military veterans with and without pension. The aid will be distributed in February 2025," he said when announcing the 2025 Budget.
He said more than RM1.8 billion is being allocated for the construction, maintenance, and renovation of civil servants' quarters.
Anwar also said that the on-call duty allowance for medical and dental officers will be increased between RM55 and RM65, depending on the department.
