Increased traffic on Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road as Kelantanese go home to vote

GUA MUSANG: It is two days before polling day and the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road is already seeing unusual traffic as voters rushed home to cast their ballot paper in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Traffic started building up at 2pm today, as the road is one of the routes used by motorists going to Kelantan.

Hayati Ismail, 34, said she chose to return home two days early to avoid the traffic jam.

"I left Sungai Buloh at about eight am and I arrived Gua Musang after 5 hours of travel. When we got to Kampung Gali in Pahang, there was a flash flood but it was still passable by all vehicles," she said when met here.

Meanwhile, Hafizee A Hamid, 45, said the flash flood that occurred caused him to be stuck for an hour near the town of Raub.

"I expect many more motorists will be on the road tomorrow. Those driving must be careful while on the road and be patient. They should check on the latest updates and follow the instructions of the authorities due to uncertainty in the weather conditions," Hafizee, who is returning to Kampung Labok in Machang.

Always follow the current developments and the advice of the authorities considering the current weather is uncertain," he said, who will return to Kampung Labok, Machang.
