GEORGE TOWN: The dean of the Graduate School of Business, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), Professor Dr Azlan Amran has been appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the university's Division of Industry and Community Network for three years effective Feb 1.
USM said the appointment was approved by Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin today and will see Azlan replacing Professor Dr Md Roslan Hashim, whose tenure ended on Nov 30 last year.
"Azlan, 51, who hails from Ulu Langat, Selangor, holds a PhD in Accounting and an MBA in Accounting from Universiti Malaya and started his career as a lecturer in USM in 2006.
"Azlan has extensive expertise in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (Practice & Reporting) as well as Integrated Reporting and Corporate Governance," USM said in a statement today.
He is also actively involved in various committees at national and international levels, such as the Malaysian Institute of Integrity, Sirim, Asian Academy of Management (AAM) and the Alliance on Business Education and Scholarship for Tomorrow, a 21st century organisation (ABEST21).
The statement also said Azlan had also been appointed as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of Advanced Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), an international accreditation body based in Tampa, Florida, the United States. – BERNAMA
