PETALING JAYA: DAP's former vice-chairman Tunku Abdul Aziz Tunku Ibrahim has died. He was 89.
His death was confirmed by his nephew, Tengku Azman Tengku Zainal Abidin, in an Instagram post.
"Tunku Abdul Aziz has passed away. May Allah bless his soul and place him among the righteous. Aamiin." he wrote.
Born in Alor Setar, Kedah, Tunku Aziz held numerous roles in anti-corruption bodies including the Transparency International Malaysia.
He played a vital role in efforts combating corruption in Malaysia as well as promoting good governance in the Asia region.
Tunku Aziz joined DAP in August 2008 before he was appointed as the party national vice-chairman.
He was appointed as the first senator from DAP in 2009.
