KUALA LUMPUR: Netizens have reported facing issues with the Road Transport Department's MyJPJ app, mainly due to high traffic volume.
This is following Transport Minister Anthony Loke's announcement on Friday that the app could now be used to access digital copies of motorists' driving licence and motor vehicle licence, commonly referred to as road tax.
"As with any new system, of course, many people want to register at the same time, causing the traffic to be very high," Loke said on Facebook yesterday.
Users reported receiving "connection error" messages and being unable to log in.
Some new users were confused when they received a message noting that they were already registered after tapping the "Register New Account" icon.
However, it is learnt that the details of such users had been stored when they registered on RTD's MySikap portal.
The RTD informed that the MyJPJ site was still in its trial period till next month, and some of the links could not be accessed.
Loke yesterday announced that local private vehicle owners would no longer need to display their motor vehicle licences (commonly referred to as road tax) on the windscreen or carry a physical copy of their driving licence, effective yesterday.
Drivers could obtain digital copies of the two documents on the Road Transport Department's (RTD) public portal (public.jpj.gov.my) or mobile application MyJPJ, which could be downloaded from the App Store, Play Store or Huawei App Gallery.
