BERA: Kuala Bera police station chief Sergeant Major Anuar Saian collapsed and died while playing sepak takraw at the Dong Rakan Muda complex in Raub today.
Doctors later confirmed that the 58-year-old had suffered a heart attack in the 2.10pm incident.
Bera police chief Superintendent Zulkiflee Nazir said Anuar had gone to Raub to represent the Bera police headquarters in a sepak takraw competition for the Pahang police chief trophy.
"After completing the first match in the team category about 12.55pm, Anuar went for a rest and complained of being tired to a team member. He suddenly collapsed.
"Seeing him unconscious, his team members alerted the medical personnel. They performed CPR before sending him to the Dong health clinic where doctor pronounced he had a heart attack," he said in a statement today.
Anuar's remains will be brought to Kuala Bera for burial.
