GEORGE TOWN: Media Prima Bhd (MPB) today contributed RM30,000 towards the Yayasan Amal Tuan Yang Terutama Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Pulau Pinang.
The money was a portion of MPB clients and partners' investment with the media company.
These clients and partners were those which had shown faith in MPB media platforms and advertised with the company in last year's special feature in conjunction with Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ahmad Fuzi Abdul Razak's birthday.
MPB group chairman Datuk Seri Dr Syed Hussian Aljunid said MPB was pleased to announce to all trusted clients and partners in Penang that a portion of their media investment with the company would be channeled to help those in need through the foundation.
"For this year, RM30,000 will be given to the foundation.
"InsyaAllah, with your continued support of Media Prima, we will be able to increase the amount next year," he said during the SereniTea @ Seri Mutiara event organised by MPB here.
Present was Fuzi, accompanied by his consort Toh Puan Khadijah Mohd Nor.
Also present were Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow and his wife Tan Lean Kee and members of his administration.
Others present were MPB's top management.
Syed Hussian said on July 9 last year, MPB's publication, the New Straits Times, carried a special feature honouring Fuzi, the eighth governor of Penang.
"Today, he continues to extend his contributions to the people of Penang, working closely with the Penang government on various statewide initiatives that continue to place priority on the well-being of the people while growing the economic stature of the state.
"Today we celebrate all our strategic partners in Penang for their continued support of Media Prima. They are those that have shown faith in our media platforms and advertised with us in this year's special feature in conjunction with Fuzi's birthday earlier this year," he added.
Among the clients and partners are Tenaga Nasional; II-VI Malaysia Advance; Pacific Inter-Link; Atomy Malaysia; Western Digital; Penang Development Corporation; UDA Holdings; Universiti. Sains Malaysia; Pak Mat Western; and Venture Corporation Limited.
Others included MMC Penang Port; Penang Halal International; Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia; Koperasi Co-opbank Pertama Malaysia Berhad; Exim Bank; Sugar Gold Sdn Bhd; ISE Solutions (M) Sdn Bhd; Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Pulau Pinang; Perbadanan Bekalan Air Pulau Pinang; Zakat Pulau Pinang; and Kolej Islam Teknologi Pulau Pinang.
Meanwhile, Syed Hussian said Media Prima was committed to extending its media services to the state government and companies here.
"We have undoubtedly one of the highest audience reach in the nation via all our media platforms.
InsyaAllah, let us continue to work together and enjoy the benefits of this mutual cooperation moving forward," he said.
