10-year-old boy among three killed in JB crash

JOHOR BARU: Three people including a 10-year-old boy were killed when the motorcycle they were riding on crashed into a lorry at Jalan Persiaran Tanjung Tampoi, here, today.

Kempas Fire and Rescue operations commander Wan Nor Affendi Wan Yussoff said the victims were identified as Mohammad Shahril Abdullah, 38, and pillion riders Habsah Jailani, 41; and Muhammad Dany Lukman Naim Abdullah, 10.

"The victims were confirmed dead on the spot by the Health Ministry officers at the scene."

"Meanwhile, the 30-year-old lorry driver is unhurt," Wan Nor Affendi said in a statement.

He said a team of 10 rescuers was rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 4.47pm.

"The motorcycle and lorry were coming from the same direction, from Jalan Cempaka to Plaza Angsana.

"We have yet to ascertain the relationship between the three victims." he added. -- Bernama
