PwD missing from Hospital Kuala Pilah found safe in KL

KUALA PILAH: A Person with Disabilities (PwD) who was reported missing since Jan 19 while waiting for her turn to take her medication at Hospital Tuanku Ampuan Najihah (HTAN) here has been found safe and well all the way in Kuala Lumpur.

Her mother, Azizah Husin, 56, said that the whereabouts of her only daughter Rabaah Laily, 33, who is also deaf and mute, was only made known to her on Feb 15, after the health of her daughter was stabilised through treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur (HKL).

Azizah said, on Jan 31, members of the public found her wandering aimlessly in Kuala Lumpur and handed her over to the police.

"She was then taken to HKL for further treatment following the state of her health which was unstable at the time since she was off her medication for quite some time, apart from the fact that the hospital authorities had difficulties in getting the necessary information from her," said Azizah when contacted by Berita Harian.

Azizah said that Rabaah, who is also a psychiatric patient, had other ailments such as diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

"When her health situation and condition improved following the treatment which took two weeks, Rabaah was then able to write down her name and other personal information and details. That was how the hospital authorities managed to carry out a background check and got in touch with me," said Azizah.

Azizah said she was thankful and grateful to all who had helped track down her daughter since the day she was reported missing.

She said it was most likely that Rabaah had boarded a bus to Kuala Lumpur.

Previously, it was reported that Kuala Pilah District Police chief, Superintendent Amran Mohd Ghani had confirmed receiving a police report from Azizah regarding the disappearance of Rabaah on Jan 20.
