JOHOR BHARU: A total of 1,191 eateries nationwide offering Menu Rahmah have registered with the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry via https://menurahmah.kpdn.gov.my as of Wednesday.
Deputy Minister Fuziah Salleh said more traders were expected to offer Menu Rahmah during Ramadan, especially the bazar operators.
"So, the list will grow as traders register on our website. And this does not include the 215 highway rest and service stops.
"There are also traders who are not registered with us, and if they (traders) want to use the logo, we would like to suggest that they register with us so that we can assist them in terms of publicity.
"We have not set any targets of registered premises because it is a privately driven initiative and they are doing it without any incentives or subsidies, it is voluntary. They only wish to share sustenance with the consumers," she said after launching the Fiesta Food Truck Rahmah Kasih Sayang at Plaza Angsana here today.
Some 50 food trucks are offering Menu Rahmah meals priced at RM5 and below until Sunday.
Fuziah said in conjunction with the Jualan Rahmah schene, the ministry had provided RM11,500 in e-wallet credit to the food truck traders and visitors.
She said the Retail Sector Digitalisation Initiative (ReDI) was aimed at encouraging traders and visitors to go cashless in their transactions.
"RM30 is offered to traders while RM20 is offered to consumers. We want to encourage retailers and consumers to carry out cashless sales transactions." -- BERNAMA
