Everly Putrajaya Hotel's 'Anyaman Ramadan' buffet brings kampung vibe with 150+ M'sian, Thai cuisines

PUTRAJAYA: The Everly Putrajaya Hotel brings the best of both worlds by serving a variety of dishes from Malaysia and Thailand for its guest at its Ramadan buffet.

Themed "Anyaman Ramadan," the 600 guests enjoyed the "kampung" vibe while breaking their 13-hour plus fast with over 150 mouth-watering cuisines.

Among the menu offerings were Tum Yung Gong, Cucuq Udang Campoq Bukit Kayu Hitam, Songkhla Pad Thai, and Murtabak Raja Kelantan.

Leading the Ramadan Buffet programme, Azhran Fuad from the hotel's engineering and maintenance department said that their mutton dishes, especially the Kambing Panggang Jitra, were the guests' favourite dishes.

"For this year, we also entertained the guests with live band from Seri Mahligai, and the guests could also watch and learn how to fold ketupat.

"We want to bring the kampung vibe into the hotel for our guests," he said when met during the first day of the Ramadan Buffet yesterday.

The early bird price was RM108 per pax for bookings before March 16, while the normal price was fixed at RM128 per person.

A special promo of sahur and iftar for two adults with one night deluxe room twin-sharing was also offered at only RM400.

He said that the occupancy for rooms during Ramadan was around 30 per cent, but for the Ramadan Buffet, it was over 90 per cent throughout the fasting month.

"We even have guests all the way from Johor who wanted to stay and enjoy our dishes.

"Last year we made around RM900,000 for the buffet programme, and this year we are targeting around RM1.2 million," he added.

The committee was also cautious about food wastage, hence the chef team was reminded to keep it low, said Azhran.

"Our chefs are experienced, they manage the food allocation based on the bookings made.

"At the same time we ensure not much are being thrown away to waste. We keep it at a maximum of five per cent only," he added.
