KUALA LUMPUR: The 67th National Day celebrations tomorrow at Dataran Putrajaya will bring together people from all walks of life to enjoy parades and performances.
With 200,000 Malaysians expected to be heading to the federal administrative capital, only a fortunate 8,000 will secure the most coveted seats.
In addition to vying for the best seats, netizens are also debating the ideal time to arrive in Putrajaya to snag a great spot to watch the parade.
TikTok user @shafikaaaa18 shared her experience of attending the full parade rehearsal yesterday, describing it as "very lively",
She said by 6.15am, the 8,000 seats were already occupied, with around 15,000 people present.
"Maybe on Aug 31, (I should) come at 3am to secure a place. This was the situation at 7.30am. So plan your arrival time accordingly," she said in the caption of her video.
In the video, the public was seen waiting for the rehearsal to start, with some standing and others sitting on the floor.
In the comments, netizens shared their past experiences and some advised to arrive a day early is the best way to secure a good spot.
User @MrsRoy recommended arriving a day before, ideally before 9pm, to ensure a good seat.
Meanwhile, @Nur Ain Yasmin said last year, the area was already crowded by 8pm the night before, with some even setting up tents.
"Last year by 8pm it was already full, and some people had pitched tents. Despite the rain, they didn't move at all. Traffic started to build up by 11pm."
Another user, @Hariessa, tagged a friend in a comment, suggesting they attend only the full rehearsal next year instead of the actual event.
"Next year, let's just go to the full rehearsal. No need to go on the actual day."
