Aidilfitri: Heavy traffic at Gombak toll plaza

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic is slowing to a crawl at the Gombak toll plaza heading towards the east coast as people start to return to their hometowns for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

A spokesperson for the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) said traffic on the east coast and between the Gombak toll plaza and Bukit Tinggi was significantly higher than the day before.

"The traffic remains slow-moving and congested all the way to Genting Sempah, Pahang."

The spokesperson added that the traffic at Pantai Timur 1 Highway (LPT) and Pantai Timur Highway 2 (LPT 2) were reported to be smooth in both directions.

Meanwhile, a PLUS Malaysia Bhd spokesperson said the traffic flow on two major highways along the northbound and southbound routes between Sungai Besi Toll Plaza and Jalan Duta Toll Plaza was smooth.

However, PLUS reported on Twitter that traffic along the northbound route between Slim River and Sungkai was slow, and an accident occurred at KM301.8 along the northbound route between Bangi and Kajang.

The public can stay updated on the latest traffic situation through the Plusline toll-free line at 1800-88-0000, Twitter page at www.twitter.com/plustrafik, or the MHA line at 1800-88-7752 and Twitter page at www.twitter.com/llmtrafik. — BERNAMA
