KUALA LUMPUR: A pregnant woman narrowly escaped a potentially tragic accident this morning when her car collided with another vehicle at Batu 21 1/2, Jalan Sungai Lalang, Kampung Sungai Lalang in Semenyih.
Selangor Fire and Rescue department assistant director Muhammadul Ehsan Mohd Zain stated that the incident occurred while the 35-year-old victim was driving alone.
The fire department received a report of the incident at 7.02am, following which a team of firefighters and rescue personnel from the Semenyih Fire and Rescue Station swiftly rushed to the scene.
"The accident involved a Honda City driven by a pregnant woman aged 35 and a Proton Saga BLM driven by a man in his 30s.
"The driver of the Honda City miraculously escaped without any injuries in the accident, while the driver of the Proton Saga was trapped inside the severely damaged vehicle," he said in a statement today.
The fire department team on-site promptly extricated the trapped victim and handed her over to the medical team for further care.
