Bukit Aman finally serves suspension order on 'Inspector Sheila'

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal police in Bukit Aman have finally served a suspension letter on "Inspector Sheila".

Integrity and Standards Compliance Department (JIPS) director Datuk Azri Ahmad said the suspension order was served under Section 78 of the Police Act 1967.

"Therefore, any power, rights and privileges as an officer has been revoked until the matter is decided by the police disciplinary board," he said.

Earlier, the 35-year-old inspector, whose full name is S.K. Sheila Sharon, told reporters after today's proceeding that she was never served any suspension letter, despite Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail saying on June 22 that she had been suspended.

Sheila was charged with one count of making criminal threat with intention to intimidate a 69-year-old woman and one count of insulting the modesty of a 41-year-old man before magistrate Chai Guan Hock.

Her charges were framed under Section 506 and Section 509 of the Penal Code, respectively.

She was also charged before magistrate Nur Hafizah Rajuni with intimidating a lance corporal with intention to insult his modesty.

The charge was framed under Section 509 of the Penal Code as well.

She was then released on RM3,000 bail in Chai's court as well as RM2,000 bail in Nur Hafizah's court.
