KUALA LUMPUR: Controversial lawyer and activist Siti Zabedah Kasim had a fright when a bomb-like object was found planted on one of her car tyres.
Fondly known as Siti Kasim, the lawyer claimed that the object, made of two bottles and wires, was found on a back tyre.
"I dropped off my car (at a service centre) and went for lunch. Suddenly, an employee called me and said, 'Siti, what happened to your car? Look at the pictures (the caller sent some images through WhatsApp to her).
Siti said she was shocked to see pictures of an object that resembled a bomb. She immediately called the police.
Siti claimed that there were only two groups that could possibly do such a thing — the "Islamofacists" and those angry at her for her criticism of a political party.
"It is quite scary. All this while, people have been telling me to take care of myself. I always assure them that I am so insignificant, so there is nothing to worry about."
She hoped the police would be able to retrieve fingerprints from the object and arrest those responsible for making the threat.
