KOTA BARU: Caretaker deputy menteri besar Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah has accepted a decision by the Pas president to make a change to the Kelantan leadership if the party retains the state in today's election.
The Panchor state seat candidate said he was fine with any regular position in the state government as he had served in such a capacity before.
"I cannot comment further on this issue as the decision was made by the Pas president after getting the consent of the ruler.
"It wouldn't be a problem for me as l have held a normal regular post in the state government before this," he told reporters after casting his vote at SK Panji here today.
Mohd Amar said it is better to wait for new developments in the matter.
On the leadership combo in Kelantan suggested by Pas, he said it was a good move for the state government.
When asked about a WhatsApp message that went viral saying that he was fighting with Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, Mohd Amar said that was baseless.
"I have never been involved in a fight with him, but sometimes, we argue on certain issues during the party's meeting.
"However, such arguments will stop shortly after that," he said.
Takiyuddin, who is Pas secretary-general said yesterday that the Islamist party might change the Kelantan Menteri Besar if it is given the mandate to administer the state once again after the state poll.
He had said the party would introduce a combination of religious and technocrat figures for the menteri besar and deputy menteri besar post in the state.
He had added that the party, however, will retain its current caretaker menteri besar in Kedah and Terengganu if it wins the two states, subject to the consent given by the respective rulers of the states.
The decision had been made following a daily committee meeting held on Aug 10, which Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang chaired.
