PERMATANG PAUH: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called for reconciliation following the end of the state elections' campaign period.
"The campaigning season has come to an end.
"So, let us reconcile (kembali bersilaturahim)," he said after casting his vote at SK Seri Penanti this morning.
Elaborating, Anwar said this was a state election.
"The decisions made will determine the leadership of the respective states.
"Meanwhile, the Federal Government is operating as usual. Starting tomorrow, we will resume our work," he reiterated.
Voters in Penang, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu went to the polls today.
Earlier, Anwar and his wife cast their votes for the Permatang Pasir state seat about 9.40am.
The Permatang Pasir seat sees a straight fight between Pakatan Harapan's Faiz Fadzil and Perikatan Nasional's Amir Hamzah Abdul Hashim.
Permatang Pasir is one of three state seats in the Permatang Pauh parliamentary constituency.
The others are Seberang Jaya and Penanti.
All three seats were won by Pakatan Harapan in the last general election.
