Four states record voter turnout of over 60 pct at 4pm

KUALA LUMPUR: Terengganu is the only state where the voter turnout has reached 70 per cent as of 4pm.

The Election Commission in their latest update said four states have recorded a turnout of over 60 per cent.

They are Kedah (68 per cent), Pulau Pinang (67 per cent), Selangor (65 per cent) and Negri Sembilan (62 per cent).

Kelantan remains the state with the lowest turnout, with only 56 per cent of registered voters having cast their votes.

Meanwhile, about 67 per cent of voters have cast their votes for the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election.

The next updates would only be released along with the final results later tonight.

Over 9.67 million registered voters are eligible to vote in the six-state elections.

All polling centres in the six states, Penang, Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan, as well as in Kuala Terengganu are scheduled to close at 6pm.
