BUKIT MERTAJAM: Two men died after the Mercedes Benz they were travelling in was involved in a fatal crash with a lorry at Jalan Song Ban Keng, Taman Sri Rambai here today.
Bandar Perda fire and rescue station operation officer Hirwan Hassan said the deceased were identified as driver Lim Jeng Yee, 33, and the back passenger, Ong Zhong Xiang, 26.
He said their friend, seated in the front passenger seat, sustained injuries.
"We received an emergency call at 3.07am about an accident involving two vehicles and rushed to the scene.
"The deceased were the driver and back passenger, who were pinned to their seats. They died on the spot. Another passenger, Lim Chun Hung, 23, was injured.
"The lorry driver escaped unhurt," he said.
Hirwan said the deceased were extricated about 4.10am.
"They were handed to the paramedics for further action," he added.
The operation ended at 4.20am.
