IPOH: Several areas in Ipoh town reportedly experienced tremors and explosion this morning.
Social media users reported feeling tremors in Medan Istana, Tasek, Stadium Perak, Meru, Falim, Klebang, Manjoi and Tanjung Rambutan.
Motorists plying the North-South Expressway (PLUS) near the Menora Tunnel also reported similar incidents.
M. Diviya, 30, said she and her colleagues ran out of their office in Medan Istana when they felt the tremors.
"I was working in a room at that time. Suddenly, I felt the building shaking, and the glass door looked like it was going to break.
"I heard a loud boom coming from the top of the building. My colleagues and I immediately ran out of the office out of concern for our safety.
"I reported the incident to the Department of Minerals and Geoscience."
Noor Zaiti Nabilah Ahmad, 32, said she ran out of her law firm in Medan Istana when she felt the tremors.
"When I heard the loud noise, I thought it might be a bomb.
"In the six years I've been working here, this is the first time I've experienced something like this. We were shocked," she said.
Attempts to get comments from the Perak Department of Minerals and Geoscience and the police are ongoing.
