SHAH ALAM: The crew and passengers on board the aircraft that crashed in Elmina, Shah Alam allegedly took a final photograph on board before departing on the ill-fated flight.
A picture has emerged of five passengers seated in the aircraft, with Pahang state executive council member Datuk Seri Johari Harun on the left, all of whom were in good spirits at the time the picture was taken.
Selangor police chief, Datuk Hussein Omar Khan, who spoke during a press conference at the scene of the crash, said that eight people were onboard the aircraft, while the remaining two were the driver of a car and a motorcyclist. Both vehicles were hit by the aircraft in the crash.
The aircraft was reported to be carrying six passengers and two crew members.
It had departed Langkawi International Airport at 2.08pm and was en route to the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang when it went down just minutes away before landing.
Today's tragedy is not the first to occur in the area, as on Sept 27, 1977, Japan Airlines Flight 715 crashed in the same area enroute to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang. A total of 26 passengers and eight crew members died instantly.
