KUALA LUMPUR: Several investigation papers will be submitted to the Attorney-General's Chambers for action against former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, said Deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay.
This follows several inflammatory statements made by Dr M that touched on the 3Rs — particularly the royal institution.
"We are to prepare investigation papers before handing them over to the Attorney-General's office for action," he said at a press conference in Bukit Aman here today.
Ayob Khan highlighted that the papers would be ready in seven days.
"Whoever makes 3R-related statements, whether it's Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang or Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, (they) will be subject to investigation.
"The police will not compromise on any statements made related to the 3R issue.
On August 18, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad was interviewed by police as part of investigations into Facebook posts made on July 27.

In a separate development, Ayob Khan said police were in the process of obtaining a red notice from the International Police (Interpol) in relation to the case of Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
"This case is being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). We were asked to help with the red notice application." he said.
A Red Notice is similar to an arrest warrant which alerts Interpol member agencies to look out for, detain and send the person to the country which had applied for the notice.
Previously, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki said the graft buster will seek Interpol's help in tracking down two individuals suspected of fleeing the country.
Muhammad Adlan, 48 and Mansor, 69, are being investigated by the MACC in relation to misappropriation in the registration, recruitment and biometric storage of foreign workers in a ministry.
MACC said they had left the country in May.
However, both Adlan and Mansoor issued statements through their lawyers denying that they are on the run to escape prosecution.
