KUALA LUMPUR: TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (TNGD) will maintain its current fees and charges for all merchants accepting payments via the payment gateway service, DuitNow QR until further notice.
In a statement today, TNG Digital Sdn Bhd (TNGD) said that a reasonable merchant fee is needed to cover costs and investments needed by the industry to upkeep their payment systems which include cybersecurity and fraud prevention controls in the long run.
However, it confirms that no additional fees will be implemented for its merchants at the moment.
"This very much aligns with our commitment as the leading digital wallet provider in Malaysia, in providing convenience through our payment services to small and medium-sized businesses across physical and online infrastructure, all within a safe and secure environment," said TNGD chief executive officer, Alan Ni.
A portal recently reported new charges would be imposed on merchants who accept payment using DuitNow QR.
In response, Payments Network Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PayNet), which operates DuitNow QR, clarifies that no fee will be imposed for using the payment transfer service.
