Body of Orang Asli man mauled by tiger found 300m from where he was attacked

GUA MUSANG: Police said the Orang Asli man in Pos Pasik, who was mauled to death by a tiger, was missing his left thigh and leg and some parts of his face.

Gua Musang police chief Superintendent Sik Choon Foo said police with the help of several Orang Asli villagers only discovered the rest of the victim's body early today.

"The victim's body was found in a rubber estate inside Pos Pasik, about 300m from the place where the victim was attacked by the tiger," he said.

He added they also discovered the victim's motorcycle.

He said police with the help of other agencies such as the Wildlife and the Fire and Rescue Departments as well as officers from the Kelantan Orang Asli Development Department (Jakoa) have mounted an operation to track down the tiger since early today.

However at Press time, they have yet to locate the animal.

Orang Asli Pisie Amud, 25, was killed after he was mauled to death by a tiger at Pos Pasik.

The victim was reported to have been missing yesterday when he did not return home after going to a nearby village on Tuesday morning.

His body was found by villagers with injuries all over his head and body yesterday evening.

This was the third attack on Orang Asli settlements in the district in the past three years.
