Perodua ushers in Festival of Lights

HINDUS, Jains and Sikhs in Malaysia are gearing up in anticipation of this year's Deepavali.

Also known as Diwali, the festival falls on Nov 12, but preparations have already begun weeks ahead of the festive season.

From houses decorated with diyas (oil lamps) and kolams (traditional Rangoli motifs), to families shopping for new clothes, Malaysians are ready to usher in the Festival of Lights.

In conjunction with the festivities, Perodua has launched its Deepavali ad, reminding Malaysians that the hours spent preparing for the celebration make it all the more meaningful and joyful.

TIME WELL SPENT

Titled Time Well Spent, Perodua's Deepavali ad sheds light on all the different preparations needed for the festivities.

Oftentimes, these preparations may be tedious, troublesome and time-consuming.

For instance, Paatti may have to wake up at 5am to prepare her famous mutton curry masala, which takes up to eight hours to prepare.

Deepavali decorations are also changing with the times. While some families still light up traditional diyas, others go all out to illuminate their homes with LED lights, bringing the warmth and glow of the festive season to their homes.

Then there are colourful kolams which take hours or even days to complete, at the entrance of houses featuring intricate motifs with geometrical patterns and other auspicious symbols.

In the video, Perodua reminds Malaysians that despite the long hours, every preparation for Deepavali is not time wasted.

These instances bring family members together, creating memorable moments that last a lifetime.

According to Perodua, the same goes for life as well. With great preparation, comes greater happiness.

Perodua wishes all Malaysians a Happy Deepavali!
