KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Digital Ministry issued a statement today assuring that the Coldplay concert tonight would go on as planned.
"The Ministry, through the Foreign Film and Foreign Artist Performance Application Committee (JK-PUSPAL), has approved the application for the performance of the 'Coldplay: Music of the Spheres World Tour' concert on Oct 13, 2023," the statement read.
The statement added that the organisers of the Coldplay concert had provided assurance that the group will adhere to the guidelines outlined in the PUSPAL Guidelines (GPP) as well as the regulations and laws in force in Malaysia.
"Regarding the concerns raised by the Federal Territories Mufti regarding the organisation of the concert, it is important to note that these are merely opinions and not fatwas," the statement added.
In light of this, the "Coldplay: Music of the Spheres World Tour" concert will proceed as scheduled at the Bukit Jalil National Stadium.
