PUTRAJAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad makes a return as health minister in the new cabinet line-up announced today.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said his experience was still needed and he would be able to focus on strengthening the ministry.
"The ministry is also burdened with many problems, some of which were inherited, while others fulfilled the people's need for better healthcare.
"I hope he will carry out his duty to the best of his ability," he said in a press conference at the Prime Minister's Office today.
Dr Dzulkefly, who is Kuala Selangor member of parliament, replaces Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who is now the minister in the Prime Minister's Department (federal territories).
He was appointed as the health minister in 2018 during Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad's administration.
