Sambal Nyet creator Khairul Aming takes legal action against sambal seller [WATCH]

KUALA LUMPUR: Social media influencer and entrepreneur, Khairul Aming, has issued eight demand letters to a seller who copied his 'Sambal Nyet' product.

Earlier, Khairul Amin Kamarulzaman, also known as Khairul Aming, stated that they have identified the relevant seller.

He said a lawyer has already sent a demand letter for the infringement of intellectual property rights.

"There are eight demands that we have listed, and if they fail to fulfill all these demands, we will take this case to the next level.

"Sambal Nyet has been registered as a trademark with MyIPO and was approved on November 2, 2021," he said through a post on Facebook.

He added that he often supports small traders.

"But trade ethically and decently.

"Do not exploit the public like this," he said.

Earlier, a merchant used the name Sambal Nyet as the product name for the chili paste being sold.

The merchant also used a similar marketing format to Sambal Nyet.
