KOTA BARU: Two men died in separate mishaps in Kubang Kerian and Pasir Puteh today.
In the first incident, a man was found dead inside his car parked near a food stall in Kubang Kerian, while the second incident happened in Pasir Puteh where a man died after falling from a 'petai' (bitter bean) tree.
Kota Baru district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said the 48-year-old victim in the first incident had just finished his breakfast at the food stall.
"A police party who was sent to the scene after receiving a report on the case and found the man's body inside his Honda City.
"Police have ruled out foul play in the case of his death. The body was sent to Universiti Sains Malaysia Hospital in Kubang Kerian for post-mortem examination," he said.
He added police have classified the case as sudden death.
Meanwhile in the second incident, the man, in his 40s, died after falling from the 30m high 'petai' tree at Kampung Teleson.
Pasir.Puteh Fire and Rescue spokesman said 10 firemen rushed to the scene soon after receiving an emergency call at 2.09pm.
"Upon arrival, hey saw the man's body lying on the ground next to the tree. The man was confirmed dead by the health officer later," said the spokesman.
