PASIR PUTEH: A woman was killed and two others injured in a collision involving two cars at Jalan Machang-Pasir Puteh here early today.
A Pasir Puteh Fire and Rescue department spokesman said nine firemen rushed to the scene after received an emergency call at 6.56am.
The spokesman said the incident which occured at Kampung Kandis, involved two cars.
"Upon arrival at the scene, we saw two adult victims seriously injured with another girl with minor injuries.
"Both of the injured adult women were pinned under the wrecked cars and one of them died on the spot," said the spokesman.
The spokesman said firemen took about several minutes to extricate the victims from the cars.
The body was later handed over to the police before it was sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
The two who were injured were rushed to the same hospital for treatment.
Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
