KOTA BARU: A bomb was found at the Pengkalan Chepa Sultan Ismail Petra Airport (LTSIP) construction site today.
The aerial-type bomb was found at 9.41am during drainage excavation works.
District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Rosdi Daud said they received a report about the discovery at 9.50am.
"The Bomb Disposal Unit was despatched to the location and confirmed that the object in question was an aerial bomb measuring 98cm in length and weighing 125kg.
"The bomb was successfully destroyed by the unit from the Kelantan police headquarters along with the Kota Baru police headquarters in a safe area at 3.20pm," he said in a statement today.
He said there were no untoward incidents during the bomb disposal process.
