KOTA TINGGI: The area around Kota Tinggi city centre has almost come to a standstill as almost all main roads have been submerged since last night.
This situation occurred due to worsening flood conditions since last night, following the phenomenon of high tide at 9pm.
The Semanggar Road leading to the area of Jalan Tun Habab Secondary School is impassable due to fast-flowing water across the road.
Additionally, Jalan Tun Sri Lanang has been closed to all types of vehicles as the route has been submerged in water up to 0.6 metres deep over a distance of 650 metres.
An inspection of shops near the city area found water rising to a depth of one to 1.5 meters, equivalent to half of the first floor being submerged.
These include Jalan Indah, Jalan Jaafar, Jalan Niaga Utama, Jalan Johor near Arked Mara, Taman Kota Mas, and Jalan Tambatan.
Even though the weather is clear with the presence of the sunshine since this morning, cloudy skies still linger over some areas with occasional drizzles.
