KUALA LUMPUR: An aircraft crashed near Kampung Tok Muda, Kapar today, Fire and Rescue Department's confirmed.
It said it received a distress call at 1.56pm and firemen arrived at the scene in Kg Tok Muda Kapar around 2.20pm.
"Search and rescue operations are currently underway and information on the victims is not available yet," it said in a statement.
A 17-second video purportedly shared by the public depicts fragments of the light aircraft scattered in what is believed to be a palm plantation.
Pictures shared by the authorities indicate that the light aircraft involved are of the Blackshape Gabriel Trainer Aircraft.
Meanwhile, Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) chief executive officer, Captain Datuk Norazman Mahmud said it was in the process of gathering information and would be issuing an official statement soon.
